Windsor Locks Area Information

Windsor Locks is a town located in Hartford County, Connecticut. The population was approximately 12,000 at the 2000 census.
Situated on the Connecticut River, the town is named after a set of canal locks. These were opened in 1829 and formed part of the Enfield Falls Canal that circumvented nearby shallows on the river.

Windsor Locks is the site of Bradley International Airport, which houses the New England Air Museum. One-third of the town's area consists of the airport.

Connecticut Firefighters Memorial

The Connecticut Firefighters Memorial is located on the ground of Connecticut Fire Academy. It is a monument with eternal flame memorializes state firefighters who died in the line of duty. Open year-round.

New England Air Museum

The New England Air Museum is the largest aviation museum in the Northeast. Located 15 minutes north of Hartford off I-91 and just minutes from Bradley International Airport. Open daily with over 80 aircrafts on display.

Spring Festival

The Spring Festival will take place from11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be inflatable slides, “Airborne Jugglers”, kids carnival games, face painting, air brush tattoos, sidewalk art, Touch-A-Truck Event, vendors, music and food.
