East Windsor was originally settled by farmers in the 17th Century. The even topography and fertile soils of the Connecticut River Valley made the area an ideal area to settle. Even today, farming makes up a significant part of our economy. In fact, the character of East Windsor is derived from the agricultural land and open space which lends our town its rural charm. We are comprised of five villages, Broad Brook, Melrose, Scantic, Warehouse Point and Windsorville.
